Arbitration
From domestic commercial arbitration to ICC and SIAC international commercial arbitration,
and investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) — we represent clients across all forms of arbitration.
Overview
Arbitration is an alternative to court litigation that offers distinct advantages: the speed of a single-instance proceeding, confidentiality to protect trade secrets, and the ease of international enforcement of awards under the New York Convention. As arbitration has expanded — from domestic commercial arbitration (KCAB) to international commercial arbitration (ICC, SIAC, HKIAC) and investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) — the strategic approach and specialist expertise required for each type of proceeding have become ever more critical.
PYEONG AN combines the dispute resolution experience of a former Supreme Court Justice with the English-language written and oral advocacy skills of international transaction specialists, enabling us to represent clients in KCAB domestic arbitration, proceedings before major international arbitral institutions including ICC, SIAC, and HKIAC, and investment arbitration under ICSID and UNCITRAL rules.
We have extensive experience leveraging arbitration in large-scale commercial disputes in construction, energy, M&A, and finance, and we engage from the drafting of arbitration clauses to secure the most procedurally advantageous environment for our clients in the event of a dispute.
We also draw on deep practical experience in domestic and international recognition, enforcement, and setting-aside proceedings to realize our clients' rights after an award is rendered.
